As a law student about the Bombka case - if he is a stationary, he might not know. However, if he is an evening one, he will answer the case was about whether paying for studies is allowed or not. Following the decision of this case it is my firm belief that university education should be, at least partly, paid for.
First of all, Poland is a relatively poor country. Granting the whole expanding number of candidates with free studies would ruin the state finances .
Secondly, the criteria for being a stationary students are clear - pass your exams very well and feel one. Only the best, which is far in my opinion , receive an award - a place among stationary students.
On the contrary it is claimed, that free education serves poor people. However I have observed, that in the case of stationary law students there are very few, who are really poor. The best solution for this problem would be improving the system of student loans.
All in all I am concerned that education should not be free. Whoever affords it, can be awarded with it. Others should invest their money, instead of work, to be given a chance for a bright future.
